Smartlog’s AutoStore Implementation at Eroski Mallorca, Highlighted Case in the Innovation Observatory in Mass Consumption

2025/02/19

The innovative implementation of Smartlog’s AutoStore system at Eroski’s logistics center in Mallorca has been awarded as one of the most outstanding projects in the 8th edition of the Innovation Observatory in Mass Consumption of the Cerdà Institute. The prestigious award was presented during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities on February 18, 2025.

The comprehensive solution, which combines the AutoStore storage system and Galys management software, has been praised for its innovative approach and its contribution to sustainability. Thanks to this implementation, it has been possible to significantly reduce energy consumption and optimize the use of space. The flexibility and modularity of AutoStore allow it to easily adapt to peak demand without interrupting operations, thus avoiding unnecessary expansions. In addition, the work environment has been improved by creating more ergonomic and safe conditions, minimizing physical effort and promoting the well-being of personnel.

Galys, the central brain of the system, ensures agile logistics and minimizes errors through the integration of traditional and automated systems. It provides comprehensive control of all logistics operations, ensuring visibility and real-time tracking of inventory, in addition to optimizing planning and reducing waste through efficient management of expiration dates and replenishment.

The implementation of AutoStore has been a resounding success, marking a before and after in our distribution center. We have achieved significant advances in efficiency and accuracy in order preparation. This award reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability, fundamental pillars of our vision to turn Eroski into a more efficient, modern and focused company on the needs of our customers and employees.

We are very proud of the close collaboration we have maintained with Eroski. This joint project demonstrates our commitment to drive the growth of companies like Eroski through advanced technological solutions, driving our solutions to become benchmarks to face the current and future challenges of the sector.

The 8th edition of the Innovation Observatory in Mass Consumption (OIGC) has awarded the 20 most important innovations developed in 2024 in the Mass Consumption sector, highlighting the adaptation to current challenges such as sustainability, health and personalization, beyond the traditional focus on the quality-price relationship, as well as the need to mitigate and adapt to climate change and optimize operations.
