Smartlog installs an innovative storage and order preparation system at the logistics operator Contrans
We are delighted to announce the installation of the Smartlift vertical storage and order picking system at Contrans, a key player in the Peruvian logistics sector and part of the Transmeridian Group.
It has a wide range of logistics services, with three strategically located sites in Callao, Lurin, and Villa El Salvador, just a few kilometres from the port terminals.
The implementation of this solution is the perfect response for Contrans to increase productivity, optimise space, and reduce errors in order preparation for their client, Promart.
The Smartlift from Smartlog is an innovative vertical storage and order preparation solution that enables Contrans to overcome logistical challenges, especially in serving one of its main customers, Promart, a company specializing in household products.
Faced with the increasing need to supply shops at unit level instead of full cases and pallets, Contrans sought a solution to improve operational efficiency and optimise storage space. It is a flexible and modular solution that is perfectly adapted to Contrans’s needs. It consists of a vertical lift module with two columns of trays, one at the front and one at the back, and a centrally located extractor which automatically moves the trays to the outside access. It is designed with technology that automatically measures the height of the items and assigns the most suitable storage location.
