Smartlog automates EPX’s new logistics center

EPX, a leading provider of specialized logistics services for the healthcare sector in Egypt and part of the Egyptian Pharmex Group, has selected Smartlog to automate its new logistics center. The project addresses the need to optimize operations while ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable logistics management. In the healthcare sector, logistics comes with complex challenges—from strict regulatory compliance to the protection of sensitive, temperature-controlled products.

To meet these demands, Smartlog has developed and will implement by the end of 2025 an advanced intralogistics solution combining AutoStore, a robotic storage system, and Galys, Smartlog’s proprietary management software that provides full real-time traceability and control.

AutoStore. A high-density robotic storage system that optimizes space and speeds up order preparation. EPX will operate two different AutoStores:

• An ambient temperature system with 5,215 bins and a handling capacity of 150 movements per hour, operated by 6 robots.
• A cold storage system (2ºC–8ºC) with 2,250 bins and a capacity of 90 movements per hour, operated by 4 robots.

Galys Warehouse Management Software. Smartlog’s Galys WMS is fully integrated with EPX’s systems, ensuring seamless data synchronization, complete traceability, and precise operational control. It enables comprehensive inventory management, automated order processing, and overall logistics optimization.
