The Smartlog Group becomes the Autostore distributor for MENA

The Smartlog Group has just signed a new cooperation agreement with Autostore to distribute its solutions in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), adding these to the Iberian peninsula and LATAM, where Smartlog already has such an agreement.

The Smartlog Group’s strategy of geographical diversification focuses on catering for the clients and markets in the countries where it is present locally. Its goal is to work hand in hand with clients, supplying them with turnkey intralogistics automation solutions and services.

With this new agreement for MENA, the Smartlog Group adds Autostore to the range in its catalogue.

Autostore is a compact robot-based order preparation system that allows items to be stored in bins stacked on top of one another, managing picking tasks in a fast, optimal way. It is designed to handle large volumes of items with fast and slow movement in small orders and small boxes, for operations requiring high-density storage.

A solution that offers many benefits for businesses in countless sectors, including retail, fashion, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, industrial goods, electronics, logistics operations and aeronautics, working in e-commerce and/or omnichannel environments.

Improvements in productivity. It allows increased productivity and performance in picking, as well as fast, effective order preparation.

Guaranteed availability and reliability. Autostore robots work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They work reliably and efficiently in hundreds of warehouses all over the world. They offer one of the highest availability rates, as they do not depend on a single robot or port to be productive. When a robot or a port breaks down, the system carries on functioning and taking out orders without any interruption.

Flexibility and scalability. In the event of growth or expansion there is no need to interrupt everyday operations. Autostore is flexible, easily scalable and adapts constantly to present and future demand, both in the warehouse and in the growth of the business.

Growth is possible simply by adding more bins, more robots or more ports to increase speed. Also, this system is easy to move to a new location.

Making the most of space. Autostore allows different configurations to adapt to different building heights, works on different levels and can even get round obstacles in the warehouse, like pillars or walls. The modular design of the system also allows it to be dismantled and reassembled in a new location.

It boosts the company’s sustainability. It allows savings on energy bills. The energy consumption of ten Autostore robots is no more than a single conventional suction device. Making the best use of space also reduces the floor space to be lit. In short, Autostore technology helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the warehouse.

Benefits in personnel terms. The design of the work ports from product to person boosts ergonomics when handling goods.
