Logistical challenges
Need to store hundreds of laptops, tablets and spare parts in an organized and accessible manner in a limited space; hence, the importance of maximizing the use of vertical space. The ability to quickly access equipment and accurately manage inventory was a critical need to maintain program efficiency. In addition, the solution needed to be robust and capable of operating in varied conditions, integrating with the customer’s ERP system.
Solution
To address these challenges, Smartlog introduced the Smartlift system on the outside of the building, with direct access from the inside.This system saves up to 90% of space thanks to its vertical storage capacity, ensures items are stored and retrieved quickly and accurately using advanced technology that automatically measures the height of the items.
Additionally, the system is designed to be integrated with Ceibal’s existing ERP system, providing a seamless and efficient inventory management solution. The solution also includes a three-year preventive maintenance plan, ensuring the continued operability and efficiency of the system. The Smartlift’s modular design allows for future adaptations as product volumes and sizes change, ensuring flexibility and scalability.
The solution provided by Smartlog Uruguay has brought numerous benefits to Ceibal including significantly improved operational efficiency and the ability to quickly store and access computers and spare parts. The optimization of space and reduction of time spent searching for and handling items resulting in a significant reduction in operating costs. The system provides a safer and more ergonomic working environment for employees, promoting responsible and sustainable storage practices that in turn reduce the carbon footprint.
