Smartlog reinforces its leadership in intralogistics solutions with the implementation of a rack supporting warehouse (Clad rack) for SITAB, a company in Itziar specializing in the manufacture of partitions and office solutions. This project addresses the need to optimize space and improve operational efficiency, facilitating the company’s growth and more agile and flexible warehouse management. The solution will be operational in May of this year, ensuring a smooth transition and effective system startup.
SITAB SYSTEM, S.L. is a company with extensive experience in the manufacture of partitions and office solutions, with a special focus on interior space separation systems. The need to gain space to increase production and the lack of available space to store the manufacturing volume, combined with demand peaks between May and September, led the company to seek an advanced solution that optimizes the management of its storage, shipping, and stock management processes in daily operations.
To address these challenges, Smartlog has developed a system that combines a double-deep stacker crane, a bidirectional transport system, and the intelligent Galys software, optimizing storage capacity and stock management.
The heart of the installation is a double-deep stacker crane, capable of handling loads of 3400 x 1250 mm at different heights, allowing up to 388 pallets to be stored, which would quadruple SITAB’s current storage capacity. To streamline operations, a bidirectional entry and exit conveyor has been installed, with a single access point, optimizing workflows and allowing very efficient management of material entries and exits.
The picking system has been designed to maximize accuracy and efficiency. A picking platform allows access to references from three sides of the pallet, facilitating product extraction. Additionally, a projection system has been integrated that visually indicates the exact location of products on partitioned pallets, minimizing selection errors.
Our Galys software manages the entire system, providing advanced stock control and optimizing space usage. Through intelligent algorithms, it automatically calculates the best location for each package, considering its dimensions, weight, and type, ensuring smooth and error-free operations.
The implementation of these solutions will allow SITAB to:
