Logistical Challenges
This project addresses the need for optimization of all of its operations, ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable management. The logistics challenges in the healthcare sector are numerous, ranging from regulatory compliance to the need to ensure the integrity of temperature-sensitive products.
Solution
The implementated solution combines technology for both ambient-temperature and cold-storage, ensuring the integrity of temperature-sensitive product and enabling omnichannel operations that include order fulfillment and pallet storage.
Smartlog has developed an advanced intralogistics solution that combines AutoStore, a robotic storage system, and Galys, Smartlog’s proprietary management software that offers full traceability and real-time control.
AutoStore. A high-density automated storage system that performs optimization of space and streamlines order fulfillment. EPx will have two different AutoStore systems:
- A system operating at room temperature, with a capacity of 5,215 cuvettes and 150 movements per hour, managed by 6 robots.
- A second system operating at positive temperatures (2°C – 8°C), with capacity of 2,250 cuvettes and 90 movements per hour, operated by 4 robots.
Galys Warehouse Management Software. Smartlog’s Galys WMS is fully integrated with EPx systems, ensuring seamless data synchronization, complete traceability, and precise operational control. It enables comprehensive inventory management, automated order processing, and overall logistics optimization.
